Biography

Matthieu Hue has more than 15 years’ experience within the EDF Group, in the energy sector and particularly in renewable energy.

Matthieu joined EDF in the year 2000. He worked on the formation of EDF Energy Renewables and joined the company when established in 2008. Actively involved in the successful expansion of EDF ER, Matthieu is now leading a team of more than 150 people who are involved in every stage of delivering wind farms from development and construction to asset management. 

Matthieu is responsible for 33 operational wind farms (including 1 offshore wind farm at Teesside) across the UK totaling more than 650 MW, and a further 300 MW in construction including the Blyth offshore demonstrator project in the North East of England. The company has a development of pipeline of projects comprising 400 MW consented and another 700 MW in planning or in the early stages of development.

In particular, Matthieu is responsible for further developing EDF ER’s strong presence in Scotland. There are already 7 operational wind farms totaling 319 MW. The company has recently opened a new office in Edinburgh.

Matthieu has a master in economics from the University of Paris and an MBA from Columbia and London Business School.
