Biography

Ivor joined RES Group in May 2016 taking over as Chief Executive with the retirement of Ian Mays.

RES Group is the world’s largest private renewable energy company operating in the development, construction and support services of renewable energy assets and energy storage. The Group has developed and built more than 16GW of renewable energy capacity globally over its 35 year history and has been a leader in Corporate PPAs, signing over 1.3GW. RES is also listed by Navigant as the second largest global company in energy storage.

Ivor was appointed as Chairman of WindEurope in September 2017 and was previously Chief Executive at Hyder Consulting plc, a multi-national design and engineering Group. Earlier in his career he was a business manager with Scottish Power plc before moving to WS Atkins plc, initially to run their Power business before then joining their main Executive Board in 2003 and leading the company’s wider energy, infrastructure, environment and property business divisions.

Ivor is a Chartered Engineer, a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering, a Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers and a Fellow of the Smeatonian Society of Civil Engineers. He is also a graduate of the Harvard Business School’s Advanced Management Program.
