Biography

Joris has been Chief Investment Officer since October 2017 and is responsible for the overall investment strategy, new business development and the international expansion of the business.

Joris was previously Corporate Development and Strategy Director, heading up the Investment Team and being responsible for Corporate Development and Strategy, including acquisitions, divestments, business development and both corporate and project financing.

Prior to that he has been the Group Finance Director from April until September 2016, heading up the Finance team and being responsible for Finance, including accounting, tax, financial reporting and compliance as well as responsibilities for the group’s divestment programme. Before that Joris has been an investment professional with Velocita since early 2012 focussed on M&A, project financings and divestments.

Before joining Velocita Joris gained finance and M&A experience within the investment banking division of Barclays Capital based in the UK and also worked with Chevron Exploration and Production in the Netherlands. Joris has a B.Sc. in Sustainable Molecular Science and Technology from the Technical University of Delft and Leiden University in the Netherlands. During his B.Sc. he has also studied at the London School of Economics. After working at Chevron Joris obtained a M.Sc. with distinction in Energy, Trade and Finance, from the Cass Business School of the UK.

He has also completed the Global Management programme at Insead following various executive education courses in France and the United States.
