Giulia Stellari

Director, Sustainable Sourcing and Renewable Energy, Unilever

Giulia Stellari leads the implementation of Unilever’s sustainability programs across the renewable energy and sustainable agricultural ingredients portfolios. In her energy role, her focus is on transforming Unilever’s operations through the procurement of renewable electricity and thermal energy. With her team she leads the global procurement program to achieve Unilever’s ambition for a carbon neutral supply chain. In her sustainable agriculture role, her focus is on supporting Unilever’s suppliers and their farmers in embedding sustainability into their operations and catalyzing the adoption of regenerative agriculture practices across Unilever’s sourcing landscapes. Giulia oversees the implementation of global sustainable sourcing and farmer development programs across a number of crops and regions from vegetable production in India to sustainable soy programs in the US and Brazil. Giulia also oversees implementation of Unilever’s global commitments to higher animal welfare standards in meat production and cage free egg sourcing. Giulia’s previous role was as the Founder and President of a startup that helps small-scale farmers professionalize the management of their farm operations by collecting data to improve their productivity, profitability, and sustainability. In this role, Giulia worked across the agricultural value chain to build technology that supports small-scale farmers in improving their farm management practices. She holds a Ph.D. in Plant Molecular Biology and Genetics from Cornell University, and an A.B. from Harvard University in Biology.
