Biography

Álvaro Dorado Baselga holds a Bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Salamanca (Spain) and a Master degree in Environmental Engineering and Management from Madrid Industrial Business School.

Álvaro joined Alcoa in 2008 as Energy Manager Europe and is Vice President of Energy Europe in Alcoa since 2015, responsible of energy sourcing and policy for Alcoa operations in Spain, Norway and Iceland and providing technical leadership in Government Affairs activities in European energy and carbon policies.

Alvaro has over 10 years multinational experience in the Energy management field having worked for the Saint-Gobain Group as Energy and Industrial Gases Purchasing Head for Spain, Portugal and Morocco between 2005 and 2007, followed by his assignment as Energy Purchasing Manager for Spain, Portugal, UK and Germany at Santander Bank from 2007 till 2008.
