Matthias Taft

Biography
Since April 2015 Matthias Taft has been a member of the Board of Management of BayWa AG, responsible for the Energy segment (conventional and renewable) including all international subsidiaries. He is also CEO of BayWa r.e. renewable energy GmbH.
Matthias Taft holds a degree in process engineering (TU Munich) and a degree in industrial engineering (University of Hagen). He has been active in the renewable energy sector since 1994 and played a key role in the development of RENERCO AG (from 2007 Chairman of the Board of Management), which merged with the BayWa r.e. Group in 2013.
Today the BayWa r.e. Group is an international project planner, trader and service provider in the wind, solar and bioenergy sector with around 1,500 employees. BayWa offers conventional energy solutions for heat and mobility in Germany and Europe.
