Biography

Clément Weber is a founder of Green Giraffe. In 2011, he opened the UK office and managed a team of up to 10 professionals before moving back to Paris in 2017

Clément leads Green Giraffe’s efforts in floating offshore wind and has led several transactions in offshore and onshore wind, both on the equity and debt side. He was project manager for the debt financing of the Walney offshore wind project (367 MW, UK, 2012) and on the equity buy-side mandates for the Dudgeon offshore wind project (560 MW, UK, 2012 and 2017). He worked on the Walkyrie transaction (sale of a 50 MW onshore wind portfolio, France, 2015), the Rentel offshore wind project (309 MW, Belgium, 2016), where he was responsible for the senior and mezzanine debt raising and worked on the Alizé transaction, the sale of an onshore wind portfolio (70 MW, France, 2017). Clément is leading Green Giraffe effort on the nascent floating offshore wind sector and has closed the first two development funding transactions in the US (California and Hawaii).

Before founding Green Giraffe, Clément worked at Dexia in Paris between 2008 and 2010 within the project finance team where he focused on infrastructure financing. He also spent a year in Beijing at AFD in 2006-2007.

He graduated from Ecole des Ponts ParisTech and holds an MSc in project finance from Université Paris X
